What made it even more special was that my whole family was there with me: my wife, my son, and my son’s girlfriend. I taught my son to play, and golf has become one of our favorite pastimes together. He is now a very good golfer and has been teaching his girlfriend, who was only playing for the third time. My wife has also been playing for a couple of years, so having all of them there to share the moment made it unforgettable. I had recently taken my first golf lesson and had already started seeing real improvement in my iron play. One of the biggest things from that lesson was focusing on my pre-shot routine and then simply executing the shot. Over the years, I’ve had several eagles on par fours, so I’ve had some “hole-in-one-like” moments, but never an actual ace. My son and I have a running thing whenever we step up to a par three and see a good shot in the air: we’ll say, “This could be the day.” Honestly, almost every time I’ve approached a par three over the years, I’ve wondered, “Is this going to be the day?” But what was amazing about this shot was that, for once, I didn’t have any extra thoughts in my head. I just went through my pre-shot routine, focused on making a good swing, and executed. I hit a pure 7-iron with a nice little draw. As the ball was in the air, my son started saying, “This could be the day! This could be the day!” We watched it track toward the hole, but we didn’t actually see it go in. It just kept moving toward the flag like it had a chance. When we got up to the green, there it was in the hole. After 35 years, it finally was the day — and I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to share it with. www.titleist.com/.../evzwiw2yvkccihkdbysv www.titleist.com/.../jmqlvhlojftzuxo1dozq

Forum Post: Hole In One

Got my first hole in one on Monday! 210 out with a 3-iron. It was a long par 3 playing 210 yards, and I was using my new T-250 3-Iron. I wasn't able to watch it go in but as we were walking a family friend of mine said he didn't see it. I've had this happen plenty of times so I just said "yeah I don't see it either" not thinking it was in. I walked up to the green and saw a divot just to the right of the hole and though "oh man that was close, I must have gone off the back". As I'm walking by the hole I think of the joke my buddies and I have where we always say "did you check the hole" when we can't find it at first. Sure enough this time it wasn't a joke and the ball had made it's way in the hole. I couldn't believe it. I was luck enough to be playing with my dad out from Florida and my uncle visiting from Bali, and when my dad saw my reaction he started yelling before I did! To add it, it was the day after my birthday as well and a weekend none of us will forget. Oh, and it was a Monday so the clubhouse wasn't too busy when I went in and paid for a round at the bar.

Forum Post: Hole in one for the best dad by par!

We decided to treat my dad for Father’s Day this year and play Whistling Straits in Kohler, WI. Shaft selection is more of tuning/feel factor. With all that in mind (do I need to trust the fitter more than ever….) an empirical recommendation is no more accurate than pulling a driver off the rack.

Forum Post: RE: Titleist options vs TM Tour Response

While most of us use something that starts with Pro-V, none of us hit the exactly like you do. So whether it is Pro-V1, -V1x, -V1x Left Dash, or AVX, you’ll have to try the online fitting and then trial some sleeves of your best 2 options. The Tour Response and TP5/TP5x only share a urethane cover. Go to know if you are thinking of leaving the USA, be it EU, UK, or Canada, be sure to check if you need a visa or other form to enter that country. The rules from 2000 are rapidly changing. Found out last year for a TT event at Cabot Cliffs, Canada wanted a form for the 4 day stay. Not to mention if your passport expires in less than 6 months after your expected travel date - be sure to renew. .

Forum Post: My Son’s First Hole-In-One

Good evening! My name is Ben Roland. Yesterday evening (30Jun26) my son hit his first hole-in-one. We were invited to play at a small, family-owned, 9-hole course near Minot, ND with some friends. Hole 5 is a 135-yard par 3. My son hit a beautiful 8-iron shot, the ball landed on the green, and bounced into the hole off of the flag stick. The ball he used was a Titleist ProV1 number 3. There were 12 witnesses and we all erupted in celebration. I saw that Titleist sends congratulatory letters and was hoping that you could provide one for my son. His name is Ike Roland. He is 12 years old. Thank you for your time. www.titleist.com/.../fzrmvgqhfjwxkow2axkh

Forum Post: First hole in one

Was a group of four of my good friends and we are at hole 13 at Wild wood country club and I hit the ball like 5 yards ahead of the hole and it broke left and went into the hole for my first ever hole in one. www.titleist.com/.../vr51lelpme48h5lnt9ni

Forum Post: RE: Sierra Vista, AZ Golf

I was stationed at Ft. Huachuca in the early '70's. The on-base course (now Mountain View Golf Course) was pretty good. Held sufficient competitions -- stroke and match -- to keep competitive golfers involved. Not sure its status now. There is another course in Sierra Vista that appears to be at least semi-private, Pueblo del Sol Country Club. I don't have any information on that one, though. Never played it while based there and did not have time during a visit last year to check it out. The town has grown quite a bit since my days, with the old main drag, Fry Blvd, being overtaken by the build-up to the east and south. Lots of golf options on weekends or days off in the Tucson area and over toward Nogales. There are a good number of public and a bunch of semi-private or resort clubs that offer open play in both those areas, about an hour to an hour and a half away.

Forum Post: RE: 2026 Scotty Cameron Releases

Hi TT I’m currently gaming a Scotty Cameron triple black Catalina Blade.
